About Floris Obscura
Floris Obscura is a passion project dedicated to reconnecting people with the natural world through deep dives into herbalism, poisonous plants, ecology, history, and folklore.
Our ancestors understood the significance of plants. They used them as symbols in stories passed down through generations, as food to nourish their bodies, and as part of traditional herbal practices.
Unfortunately, much of that connection has been lost. We’ve lost the ability to recognize the plants that surround us, the knowledge of how to grow our own food, and the skill of recognizing when the land is struggling and what it needs to return to balance.
By exploring the stories, science, and history of plants, I hope to awaken people's curiosity about the natural world. When we can recognize the plants around us and remember their stories, we begin to see our surroundings differently, and when we feel connected to nature, we become more invested in protecting it.
So whether you’re here to learn something new, or simply look a little closer at the world around you, you’re in the right place.
